Truth

Truth is a relative term based on a consensus interpretation of observable events. These events (facts?) are then transcribed and written down as text or translated and passed on in conversation. Either way, once the information is placed into the public domain it takes on a life of it's own. When in the public domain it acquires energy of it's own and infuses the believer with a form of power. The believer then takes that relative "Truth" and uses it as a tool to advance his or hers own agenda. The strength of the believer and the power of his (her) conviction will create a reality based on that relative truth and is used to alter the relative truths of others.
On hearing this new relative truth others will respond based on there own beliefs and relative truths. Some respond in anger, others with laughter, and others not at all (the types of responses are endless). If you ask the French, the English, or other Europeans - (the list goes on) if Americans are ignorant, biased, and confused; many would respond in the affirmative. If we were to ask Americans if Europeans were socialist, liberal and soft many would say yes. Does this imply that this is the truth - no - it is but an indication of that persons relative belief. If you were able to look into the mind of every individual on the planet you would learn that each person has a different relative belief system based on the sum of that persons experiences and their ability to understand (plus a lot of other intrinsic properties we do not understand). So when you go out to find the Truth, be aware that your own relative beliefs may block your view. The road to Hell is paved with good intentions (another relative belief).

Just because you have a particular belief system based on your written and oral texts does not imply that the relative truth you posse is better then that possessed by someone else. Each individual posses a unique truth that can be found by focusing on the belief inside. I think therefore I am. But what am I? The external events are but triggers to prod what is believed inside. You do not find the truth by finding fault and looking to see what others are doing or have done. You take the information and view it in light of who you are. Listening to other is a way of broadening you experiences enabling you to better understand the relative truths you possess.

You find Truth by examination of your own internal beliefs. This is the only way to gain clarity in your perception of the outer world and hope that you may but glimpse the "Real Truth" if such a thing exists. The outer reality is an illusion based on interpretation. I do not mean to imply that it is not real. It is an interpretation of information processed by the mind. If ten people are interviewed about an event they just witnessed you may get ten different views. This does not mean that one view is correct and nine are wrong. It just means we interpret events differently.

Personal beliefs are a path that lead to an understanding of the truth if you can filter the illusion created by your external interpretation. To get a feel about how this works – go to your TV and watch the news on several different channels. You will see a single event with many different views. You decide which one fits your personal reality and then try and decide which one is the truth. If you keep an open mind you may be surprised by what you find.
